OUR SERVICE
Playhouse Montessori supplies a nurturing and stimulating preschool environment where children grow and learn whilst having fun. Our preschool service caters for children aged 2½ to 5½ years old and offers parents flexibility where children can attend on a sessional basis, for 3½ hours per day, or on a part-time basis, for up to 5 hours per day. Our free ECCE preschool places are for 3½ hours per day, 5 days a week, with no additional costs added on, so your child benefits by having an extra half an hour of quality preschool education per day totally free of charge!
OUR STAFF
When you place your child in Playhouse Montessori, you have the peace of mind that comes from knowing that a highly competent and qualified team is caring for your child. Our staff endeavour to build a trusting and open relationship with all our children and our parents.
OUR ETHOS AND ACTIVITIES
The Montessori Method believes that children learn directly from their environment. The teacher is there to facilitate the child’s exploration and creativity. All subjects are interwoven and the child learns at their own pace. This helps each child gain independence and confidence, and be proud of their own achievement. Playhouse Montessori incorporates the Aistear Early Childhood Curriculum Framework and Siolta, The National Quality Framework, within its Montessori curriculum of activities.
Playhouse Montessori celebrates and embraces the concept of equality and diversity. We teach the children about difference and how to appreciate the features that make a person special and unique. We help the children to understand that as individuals they are separate from others with their own needs, interests and abilities. By doing this, we help the children to have a sense of ‘who they are’ and to feel valued.
Our cultural subjects teach the children about people from all parts of the world. We organise regular theme days about different countries and continents where we listen to original music, read stories, discuss traditions and participate in many art and craft projects relating to that theme. We also regularly participate in various charity events so our children learn that helping others is important and fun.
PARTNERSHIPS WITH PARENTS
Parents are the most important people in their children’s early lives. Children learn about the world and their place in it through their conversations, play activities, and routines with parents and families. By working together, parents and practitioners can enhance children’s learning and development. At Playhouse Montessori we strive to create an environment that encourages parents to be actively involved.
